Captcha Advertising is the simple idea that publishers can allow content to be 'unlocked' if their visitors can demonstrate a comprehension of an advertisement. The visitor is presented with an advertisement, then asked a question about the ad, such as, what is the name of the product being promoted? The correct answer would allow the visitor to proceed. ReCaptchas have been used for several years as a way of verifying to publishers that their resources are being accessed by real people, not just computer 'bots'. The application of Captchas in advertising has been suggested for several years, but at the time of writing I am unable to find a working commercial example of this concept. If you would like to discuss using words or phrases in captchas for advertising, I love exploring ideas. My contact details are available at my blog. Cheers, Tim Longhurst Sydney, Australia |
